BB Klekovača

"BB Klekovača," based in Bajina Bašta, is the oldest existing Serbian distillery. Established in 1955, it continues the legacy of the "Bajina Bašta" Agricultural Cooperative founded in 1905. "BB Klekovača" is best known for its signature rakija "klekovača" — a unique variety of slivovitz* (rakija made from plums) enriched with juniper berries — an authentic and traditional rakija of Bajina Bašta and Mount Tara, produced in this region for centuries.

"BB Klekovača" Distillery currently produces twenty-three rakija varieties, and nearly all of them fall into the premium category. Since January 2018, it has introduced an ongoing Limited Series. Within this line, “BB Klekovača” presents masterpieces of distillation — unique creations released in strictly limited, even microseries. These include experimental releases, innovative techniques, and rare "gems" that emerged spontaneously through aging in select barrels and casks.

With unwavering faith in the strength of our land and deep respect for the rich tradition of rakija production in our region, since 2010 we have carefully aligned each step of our production with our historical and geographical identity — always driven by a clear vision and mission: to create premium drinks from the finest fruits and native plum varieties of Western Serbia.

Wood and Fire

At our Distillery, rare craftsmanship, scientific expertise, and one of the world’s oldest rakija-making traditions are passed down from generation to generation.

We produce 23 rakija varieties, all crafted from carefully selected fruits grown in the rich soils of Western Serbia. Our klekovača and slivovitz are made from native Serbian plum varieties – Trnovača and Požegača. Every BB rakija is made through a process of double distillation using top-quality copper stills heated with firewood. Around 900,000 liters of rakija are currently aging in our cellar, with one-third stored in Serbian oak barrels from Goč Mountain, with volumes ranging from 500 to 13,000 liters.

Our unique skills and knowledge, our region's climate, air, and water, our wood and fire, and native fruit varieties — all of it is distilled into every bottle. Into every single BB rakija.
